My buddy Jason sent this to me. I fall heavily within the geek category with some flop over into nerdiness (namely the favorite sport category).
How about you?
Yes, you can play Duck Hunt on the Wii!!!!!!! How? Well, today Nintendo released the trial version of their “Internet channel” which lets you surf the web from the Wii. That combined with this awesome flash game will let you use you Wiimote as a “light gun.” There’s even a game that lets you shoot that damn dog!
I’ve only played one game but I got to level 8 and scored 79000 points. I’m glad I haven’t totally lost it in the last 15 years. Wow I feel old.
Just a notice that I’ve stopped using Catch-all addresses for my domain. It was just getting a little crazy getting 150 e-mails from bounced messages caused by spammers spoofing my domain. All that means is that you have to start using a real address to contact me. Just leave a comment with your e-mall address if you want a real e-mail address of mine to contact me with. Chances are that if you’ve e-mailed me before, I’ve setup the proper forwards so your e-mail will still get through.
Yup, I got one… I’d post more but, well, I’m playing…
Perhaps the most underwhelming “theory” where the says this:
We’ve just solved a problem that hasn’t been solved for twelve hundred years - and it’s that easy
Watching his video, I’m hoping there’s more to this idea of “Nullity” being equal to 0/0. If there isn’t then all he’s done is given a new name to “undefined.” This most definately doesn’t solve the computing problems that Dr. Anderson is implying that this cute nintendo type name addresses:
“Imagine you’re landing on an aeroplane and the automatic pilot’s working,” he suggests. “If it divides by zero and the computer stops working - you’re in big trouble. If your heart pacemaker divides by zero, you’re dead.”
If this is all it takes to be a doctor then I should have stayed in academia.*
p.s. I actually haven’t read any academic slanted paper on this so I’m just assuming that the BBC article is an accurate representation. Let me know if you have better information.
*As pointed out by Tim, yes, I’m still in “academia” but MBA programs really don’t feel like academia and I think you know what I meant (doing an MSc and PhD etc.)
This x-mas break will be spent (most likely) sleeping in, eating pizza, and playing lots of video games. The last one may or may not happen, depending on if I get a Wii.
Sigh, I just want to go to bed right now.
