Know this - if you love an artists music enough to share it realise that imeem is paying that artist a share of that advertising while muxtape is building its popularity without compensating any of the artists. His(or her) post-modern sleaze just oozes behind their obscurity. It's been a very long time since I've gotten one of those. Based on your reaction I'd guess that this comment is somewhat emotionally based. I'm not sure if your assertion that mentally balanced people don't care about what others think. Humans are social creatures, we certainly do care about what others think. It's a hard sell to say that all mentally balanced people *Don't care about what other people think*. I can easily find people who are sane and who do care about how they look and how this look is perceived by the group of people around them. "The interface sucks." Sure, let me quantify: It is minimalist to a fault. It doesn't provide the degree of control that I have come to expect from a web-app that is playing audio. The standard player interface isn't a bad thing, it's been learned by the general population and is now an intuitive way to control audio playback. Why create this clunky list interface where the there is this huge text and I have to scroll in the browser to play songs? It seems like someone just trying to be different for the sake of being different. Even Apple wasn't crazy enough to get rid of the standard player interface. (oh and an aside: who the hell puts black text on a black box? You can see this on the main page with the list of user names) In addition, where are the standard web/social features that provide me the ability to actually get something out of the site from people I don't personally know: e.g. search and matching common interests. These aren't bad things and can add a lot of value to a site if done correctly. The indie kids comment was more of a random joke based the observation that a lot of the blogs from people I consider more "indie" have picked this up. Honestly, my mistake for not properly encoding my intentions into text. Consider this comment a clarification of the post. "It got all the indie kids to think it's the best thing since sliced bread, thus pissing me off." I wonder if you can explain why that pisses you off. No mentally balanced person would give a shit what all the indie (or any group) kids think of anything.
